5 top things of self-love for busy mums
As mothers, we have multiple tasks to fulfill: preparing meals for the family, helping kids with homework (especially with new reality fo homeschooling for many of us) and keeping sane for the sake of the family. Some of us may still need to handle business or work from home, face the clients over Zoom ( sitting in your PJ bottoms sometimes), and meet work datelines as well as manage the household chores. It adds on with comparing yourself with "more successful mothers on Instagram" out there : How do they do it? How do they manage to feel so good? It is all a bit overwhelming and being mothers and entrepreneurs ourselves, we have been there just like many of you and still are.
The problem is that we tend to put the needs of everyone else first while placing our own needs last. Many mothers I know plan their lives around their children starting from early morning, then squeezing the business deals in between and finishing off with supervision of their homework and managing household duties. Sounds like a lot of stress, don't you think? If it looks like you and you are looking for some inspiration on how to indulge yourself on a daily basis, as a short term action plan you can use our Hygge guide for busy mums.
As I found out, self-love can help us combat stress. Prolonged stress can result in more dramatic consequences. But what is self-love? Is it something you can obtain through a beauty makeover or a new set of clothes? To be honest, one might argue with me but I truly believe that it can be anything that makes you happy is self-love. Of course, digging deeper into psychology terms, self-love is explained as "a state of appreciation for oneself that grows from actions that support our physical, psychological and spiritual growth." But I think that before going that serious, we can all practice little actions of self-love and being more mindful to ourselves and the things that we personally love.
So here are 5 top things of mindful self-love:
⭐ Engage in self-love meditation. Even 5 minutes a day can make a dramatic change in your mind.
⭐ Learn the art of drinking tea. I have stocked up with many herbal teas for my evening book reading ritual. It has many benefits and you should not miss on that.
⭐ Go for a walk on your own daily. This one is a sort of meditation and also counts towards your daily steps tracking.
⭐ Make a gratitude journal. You can make your own or purchase one from Amazon or similar.
⭐ Dance, swim or sing for relaxation as noone is watching. Don't be shy, do it for yourself, mommies !
Self-love is an investment in your internal well-being, with amazing external pay-offs!
